Thee – Inflammables of tortures

Thee – Inflammables of tortures

theePrecisely, in simple terms, ‘Thee’ is a flick that doesn’t make you feel so elated and appreciate the filmmaker at any shots. Got it? Sundar C was well appreciated for brimming with an excellent attribute of opting best three flicks on the row. Following them were the films that didn’t carry any such excellence. Previous week’s release ‘Perumal’ was one such annoying film and now here comes another of the same genre. Cop story isn’t something new to Kollywood as each and every actor has been dreaming to don the role that takes them to next level. ‘Vijay’ for ‘Pokkiri’, ‘Surya’ for ‘Kaakha Kaakha’, ‘Vikram’ for ‘Saami’ and with these interpretations, there were other actors who strode for similar roles only to get disappointed. Can you add Vishal’s ‘Satyam’ to this list? Why not, it was a pure embodiment for the terrible failure. Here follows Sundar C who seems to be apt on his look but not his actions. Can pin down one such dim-witted personality who drew the assumption that cops should always tighten their bracelets and always crisping their moustache?

The film opens with Saami (Sundar C) walking nude on the roads of Chennai and seeks a position in ruling party lead by a idiotic person (Shiyaji Shinde). Saami impresses him by cutting off the hands of a party-member who manhandled him. Finally, with the support of actress Chitra Devi (Namitha), he captures the position of MLA. He starts off his duty by inaugurating a Cabaret, followed by inducing rowdiesm and attacking police officers. Meanwhile, it’s the turning point when Saami visits the hospital as his pregnant wife Ganga (Raghini) is in serious condition struggling for her life. Saami glimpses back into his past life where he is Saarathi, a sincere police officer.

Rest of the story reveals why Saarathi changed himself as Saami. Why a policeman transcended into a politician? Why the man who protected the law does does things in vice-versa forms crux of the flick.

When it comes to performance, Sundar C has nothing to be commented about. Well, you know why? An excellent Malayalam movie where Mohan Lal stunned everyone was remade in Tamil as ‘Veerappu’. Sundar C just did the things without emoting to those sequences where Mohan Lal won applause. Kindly let us know are there any ways to get Namitha out of cine-industry. She’s so pathetic on her characters where her only hopes are with skin shows. Again, Raghini appearing for couple of scenes doesn’t come up with anything appreciable. Manoj K Vijayan is the only one who convinces with his clichéd yet best show. Why all the bad politicians yell out in loud tones? Can’t they speak softly? Please Director Kiccha try to make some changes and of course it’s for every director who have the wrong assumption.

It’s a same old flimsy factor prevailing throughout the film and makes you so distressed and restless. For all those filmmakers who deal with subjects of ‘Police’ and ‘Politics’, kindly watch the films directed by Ram Gopal Varma. We aren’t appreciating him as the best one, but his technical aspects handled and way of narration is sharp though there’s no solidity in script.

Srikanth Deva! Please don’t get us more hatred towards you by remixing the best tunes into worst ones. Cinematography and editing are middling throughout the shows.

On the whole, ‘Thee’ is a film that isn’t worth watching… It’s the time Sundar C should commit for furthermore projects.
